"Widmerpool Trees." 2025
"I am an East Midlands based photographer specialising in monochrome work. My aim is to produce images which reflect the area in which I live, its landscape, structures and people. The exposure was made some time ago and sat on my computer until August 2025 when I worked on it. These trees are a feature of Widmerpool which is a village a few miles from my home. I have passed the trees many times on the footpath between the two villages but on this occasion the light caught my attention, excited me, and I was compelled to make the exposure."

"Landscape with Trees." 2006
"After a long period of passionate relationship with the image, I know without doubt more clearly why and how this idyll came about, and with what intensity the spell continued to hold me so durably captive, deprived of any will to break this freely consented dependence. I had discovered quite early on the truths of etymology and the obviously logical reasons for creating a word to designate a new science or a new practice. This revelation, the true meaning of the word photography, plunged me into a deep reverie: photography, the art of writing with light... Is there no more beautiful ink than light? Is there no stranger paradox than that which describes the mutation of a limpid, dazzling wave into an obscure flux, deposited furtively, magically on the sheet and engraved in platinum or silver salts? The reverie persisted and I became a photographer."

"Snow Landscape." 2005
Jean Guy Lathuilière also uses particular and primitive shooting and printing techniques: camera obscura equipped with a pinhole, simple camera povera, SLR camera. He has adopted printing techniques such as gum bichromate, salted paper and platinum-palladium prints, mainly favouring experimental research. As photography is part of his everyday world, he has focused part of his work on thematic series, seeking to deliver an unusual vision of the world in a resolutely intimate light. JG Lathuilière's photographs have been exhibited and published in France and abroad. They also feature in public and private collections.
"My approach to photography is intimately linked to a contemplative stance and a fierce quest for silence. In photography, I believe it is essential to evoke the passage of time, not only to appreciate a strict and cold historical chronology, but above all to evoke duration and the passage of time itself: the eye stops, the gaze rests for a brief moment, and the image is born of this fleeting, fortuitous and often unhoped-for encounter."

"Motherhood." 2017
"Motherhood" was created on the high granite slopes of Tuolumne Pass in Yosemite National Park, where life clings to the harshest of landscapes. A solitary lodgepole pine rises defiantly from the rock, surrounded by younger trees that lean toward the light as if nurtured by their parent. The composition speaks to resilience, survival, and the timeless cycle of renewal in the Sierra Nevada. Shot with my Nikon Z9 full-frame mirrorless camera, the black-and-white rendering emphasizes the stark textures of granite and the sculpted forms of the clouds above. The tonal contrast draws the viewer into a dialogue between permanence and fragility, stone that has endured for millennia, and trees whose lives persist only through adaptability. In naming the work "Motherhood", I sought to honor the strength and continuity that binds generations, both in nature and in human life, reflecting the deep, unspoken connections that sustain existence."
"With over two decades of experience in both film and digital photography, my work explores themes of isolation, impermanence, and the sublime presence of nature. I favor the disciplined process of medium format film and traditional darkroom techniques to render compositions steeped in quietude, often from the remote landscapes of the American West. My goal is to create images that transcend documentation and invite a deeper emotional connection through tonal nuance, compositional stillness, and the presence of natural light."

"Silent Bloom." 2025
"My work as Escencia Visuals is rooted in the belief that beauty resides in stillness and in the moments most often overlooked. With a cinematic eye and moody palette, I explore how light shapes emotion, revealing stories within both people and the quiet objects that surround them. I am drawn to the subtle and the fleeting curve of an empty chair, the worn surface of a wall, the shifting shadow of a passerby fragments that mirror the human condition in their transience."
Tobiloba, founder of Escencia Visuals, is a Nigerian-born, UK-based visual storyteller whose work explores the intersection of culture, memory, and emotion. After transitioning from a background in management to photography, he discovered a passion for capturing the quiet power of ordinary moments. His practice reflects both personal resilience and a desire to preserve fleeting human experiences through light and stillness finding poetry not only in faces, but also in overlooked details such as empty chairs, fading walls, worn streets, or the soft glow of a passing shadow.

"Early Evening in Shibuya." 2018
"In Japan, especially in large cities, one can observe a remarkable phenomenon of tolerant coexistence between very different lifestyles, subcultures and "orientations". They use the same public space without bothering each other. This is less due to active "respect" in the sense of appreciation, but rather to the deeply rooted social principle of harmony and the avoidance of harassment or intrusiveness. This automatically creates an atmosphere in which everyone can do their own thing as long as they do not disturb public order. However, this "respect" is often more of a social indifference. People leave others alone, but do not necessarily support or celebrate their way of life. It is a passive tolerance based on avoiding conflict, not active respect. I observed this very clearly one early evening in a side street in Shibuya. Two small groups were standing together chatting while a skater tried a "heelflip" over and over again in their midst, making a loud racket. Both groups gave the impression of being completely alone and among themselves. Neither noticed the other, everyone acted as if the other did not exist. No one was bothered. Many countries, not least Germany, could learn to coexist more peacefully in this regard."

Holly Hutton
Price: £250
"Roses Shelter Island." 2024
Holly Hutton holds a BFA in textile arts and an MFA in alternative photo processes. She has been a practicing artist for the last 30 years. Building upon her Master's degree exploring cyanotypes and Van Dyke's printing, she continues to explore other alternative photo processes. B&W and color photos are scattered throughout her portfolio of scenes that strike a chord, forever capturing moments in time.
"For decades, my art has been a manifestation of a changing repertoire of techniques, primarily focused on photography, alternative photo processes, collage, and found objects, while exploring themes that fluctuate between popular cultural icons and politics. This series explores the black and white, motivated by a need to escape our present dystopian themes, which are facing us front and center. In other words, my internal dialogue of anguish vacillates between visual depictions of current events and escapist pursuits of beauty."

Price: £325
"Rush Hour." 2025
"I chose black and white that day because it suited the gloomy weather and my mood, and it enhanced the contrasts. Walking through the streets of London, I arrived at Oxford Street and saw a queue at the Underground station, which was obviously closed to regulate the flow of people. While taking this photograph, "Rush Hour", I wanted to capture the movement of the crowd when the gates opened, and I felt that a long exposure would best transmit this to the viewer. Unconsciously, I used a frame within the frame by including the entrance barriers. I think it was my way of creating some space between myself and this overwhelming scene."

"Sunshine." 2025
Ausra Linkeviciute is a London based photographer and videographer. With a background in Visual Anthropology, her work explores portraiture and the quiet rhythms of everyday life, often rendered through soft-focus Holga frames that embrace imperfection and invite lingering attention.
"The selected images are from the 2024–25 Frugal Photo Challenge, the work that draws on one 120-film roll shot each month. A Holga 120N-plastic lens, persistent light-leaks, and at times an intentionally mismatched 645 mask-generates vignetting, frame overlap and soft focus. The material limitations slow the act of seeing and accept uncertainty as part of the record, resulting in a series of quiet, tactile encounters."
