Tomisra Tridiba
BIOGRAPHY
Tomisra Tridiba (born May 27, 1999) is a Bangladeshi architect, artist and photographer. Tomisra is a Bangladesh-based artist who has been recognised as an international artist, notably participating in international exhibitions in UK, Greece, Spain and worldwide.
Born in Sylhet city, Tomisra Tridiba is one of a pair of twins. Although she grew up in the beautiful city of Sylhet, her ancestral hometown is Khulna. From an early age, she showed interest in painting, singing, crafting, and other forms of art. The encouragement she received from her family played a significant role in helping her grow artistically alongside her academic pursuits.
Before attending college, Tomisra completed a 4-year music course (2009–2012) and a 2-year fine arts course (2009–2010) at the District Shilpakala Academy in Sylhet. She later earned her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Architecture from Leading University (2018–2022), graduating with first-class distinction—an achievement that deepened her appreciation for the arts.
By profession she is a full-time architect. Besides, she has shown her skills in realistic paintings and photography.

SOLO EXHIBITION
THE INTERVIEW
In what ways has architectural training refined your artistic process?
From an early age, I was curious about the arts. My family encouraged me to develop a cultural mind. Soon, art became my hobby, my pleasure. After entering university to study architecture, I became passionate about learning to observe from different perspectives. The architectural journey enhanced my vision; both in sight and in mind. Architecture is not only about dead structures; it is about visualising space through observation. Thus, my observation skills led me to see deeper meaning through my art and photography, refining my own artistic style.
How do you conceptualise the relationship between space and emotion in your work?
For me, concept is a strong foundation of my artwork. Space visualisation is incomplete without emotion. To merge them, concept development acts as the bridge. My artistic approach is not visually striking, it is from overlooked, unnoticed perspectives, seeking the inner beauty represented in their own unique ways. Merging space with emotion makes my artwork engaging to the soul, opening new perspectives of thought from simplicity.
To me, conceptualisation is not naming the artwork. The concept becomes the artwork.
What are the ethical considerations you face as an artist?
I believe ethics are to be held in the heart and expressed through behaviour. It is natural rather than forced. As an artist working in different fields of art, I consider the down-to-earth beauty of my country, our heritage as a glorious past, and inspiration from nature as lessons for future development. I circumvent controversies, vulgarity, and conflicts, as artwork is a representation of the artist's taste.
