"I am an artist photographer with the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland and a member of the Łódź Photography Society. What I do has its roots in a youthful passion from many years ago. I believe that, despite the passage of time, I haven’t lost that youthful spontaneity, fortunately, and photography will always remain my great passion."

"Morning in Ischia." 2025
"I am a Junior at Penn State majoring in Professional Photography. I love all things nature and landscape. This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy, traveling to other cities on weekends. As my first time outside the country, the experience was eye-opening and immersive. My camera became a source of comfort, helping me step outside my comfort zone and find moments of quiet amid the bustling streets. These photographs reflect the places and moments that shaped my journey, small fragments of stillness and discovery captured through my lens."

Karen Safer

"Sailing Round Mozambique." 2011
Karen Safer, a native Angelino, is an internationally exhibited, award-winning photographic artist and poet. Her passion for art began when given camera & crayons at age 3 and immersed in California’s visual language. A lifelong traveler, she has explored over 230+ countries & territories, embracing both the exotic and unexpected.
Influenced by her father’s black-and-white photography and her mother’s insatiable curiosity for knowledge and travel, her inspirations range from ancient Assyria to conceptual works of Cindy Sherman. She began as a painter before choosing photography in college, earning a master’s degree in art and building a career in design and architecture. With 14 solo exhibitions and participation in over 590 shows, she has received more than 490 awards.
"At a young age my parents introduced me to foreign travel that whetted my appetite for the rest of my life. I wanted to see everything and learn and study about the world through art and history. There is no better education than traveling the world to make connections. You learn everything. I am fortunate to have seen much of the world – some 230 countries and territories and only prevented others because of civil wars. My eyes have seen 5 oceans, 7 continents and most cities on the globe . . . what a gift. My tagline is: "wherever I am in the world is my favorite place" and "a photographer has the whole world – big and small – to capture." Keep seeing and discovering – be curious."

"Imbrue." 2025
"My trip to Latvia felt like traveling back in time. Old wooden buildings stand alongside post-socialist structures. The country seems caught between its former Soviet and Russian occupations and its ongoing search for an identity of its own. This sparsely populated region exudes tranquility in its forests, villages, and on its Baltic Sea beaches. Relics from the Soviet era are visible everywhere. They blend gently into the surroundings or are accessible to tourists as museums. Respectfully and with gentle humor, I aim to portray the feeling of peace and tidy strangeness that this archaeological journey brought with it."

"Sun Crown." 2025
"I am a sophomore at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana studying media with a focus in film, television, and digital production. Creation and storytelling are both large parts of my life, and I hope to further my skills in them through my studies. I've just recently gotten into photography, and I have fallen in love with it! I also enjoy other forms of art such as embroidery, woodworking, and sketching. These photographs are quick snippets of my travels. They capture simple moments - a lone statue in the sun, two siblings defending their sandcastles, and a fleet of ducks traversing the beach. They capture memories that, though plain, remind us to appreciate the small joys in life."

"Evening in Istanbul." 2025
"I’m passionate about portrait, nature, and street photography. I love traveling and capturing the world’s beauty in a storytelling and documentary style, revealing moments that connect people, places, and emotions."
Evening in Istanbul: Wandering through the streets of Istanbul, you'll often see people sitting with a tulip-shaped glass of cay/Turkish tea. It's a quiet ritual, a bridge between strangers, a moment of pause to share stories or simply sit with one's own thoughts.

Brigitte B Burckhardt
Price: £325
"On the Road." 2015
Brigitte currently lives in Switzerland. She is a self-taught photographer, started shooting as a child inspired by her grandfather whose name she chose to bear as her artist’s name to honour him.
She shot with a film camera for years be it color or black and white, spent hours developing her films in a dark room. In her twenties she travelled around the globe taking her camera along and thus gained great experience especially in landscape and street life photography.
Being reasonable instead of listening to her passion she studied medicine and is still partly working as a medic. Though after a life changing event she had more time for herself and the passion for photography came back stronger than ever. Still taken mostly by landscape and street life photography but also starting to experiment with other approaches.
"Travelling has always been with me. It was my way to escape, my way to discover, my way to feel, to feel free. I am a traveller; it is part of me, part of my identity. And travelling made me a photographer. When this photograph was taken, I was overwhelmed by joy, overwhelmed by the beauty of nature I saw. In the middle of nowhere… just driving. Being in the moment. I had forgotten where I started from and where I was going. Freedom. This is "On the Road." To Jack Kerouac."

"Greece, Poseidon at Sunset." 2025
"When I landed in Athens, I didn’t expect to feel anything familiar. And yet, everything felt like déjà vu: the balconies, the chaos, the sun that painted the same light I knew from my childhood in Sicily. It was like stepping into an alternate version of home, one where the language changed, but the rhythm of life, the gestures, and even the dysfunctions remained the same. I walked the streets not as a tourist, but as someone returning to something already written inside me. There was comfort in the shared spaces, the slowness of people, the music at night. But also frustration, with buses that never came and rules that bent with the heat. Through my lens, I tried to hold both: the melancholy of what my hometown could have become, and the joy of finding echoes of it, still alive, somewhere else. Athens didn't erase the distance between places, but it softened it. And perhaps, for a moment, it softened me too."

"Dahab, Red Sky." 2025
"When I left Europe for the first time, headed to Egypt, I was full of anxiety. I had built a mental map made of threats: invisible illnesses, extremism, conflict. While those around me looked forward to the trip with ease, I was paralyzed by fear of the unknown. And yet, in Dahab, I found a world that quietly disproved all my fears. A sky that looked hand-painted each evening. Dogs sleeping soundly, without needing to know who I was. People who never rushed, living at a pace that felt like the sea’s own breath. And other travellers, from distant places, who had made this calm their way of life. I returned with less noise inside me, and a different understanding of what it means to feel safe."
